Barr Hearing: Impeachment Theatre for the (blind) Masses

Attorney General William Barr appeared in front of the Senate Judiciary committee today to speak further on his release of the Mueller report which ultimately concluded after two years the President Trump was not influenced by Russians in the 2016 elections.

This was coupled with the bizarre grandstanding of many panel Democrats trying to find some a-ha moment to be regurgitated on the nightly news, we had a front row seat to Democrats trying to bolster some Presidential run or those unhindered by the need to be professional and simply "jumped the shark" into absurdity.

In the face of idiocy, Barr found some support on the panel. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was happy to explain how Barr diligently and responsibly performed his duties, revealing all the pertinent details possible while still protecting the necessary details confidential. This of course would never satisfy Democrats, who have banked for over two years that evidence would eventually show Trump was, as Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) silly spewed, a "grifter and liar who sits in the Oval Office". Many liberal senators, as expected relied on similar low shots instead of using their time to ask pertinent and relevant questions.

Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) took a not so unique approach, mimicing her style from the Kavanaugh hearing, and essentially using her time time to set up long winded questions, that not only misrepresented the fact but typically has her preconceived answer built in, to result in an expected answer of "yes or no, sir" when the answer was typically the one she wanted, or not, and which she moved away from just as quickly.

Ultimately, Barr came to Congress well prepared for the posturing from the Democrats. For the vast majority, he was composed, informed and relied on his extensive background to relay his verdict he was empowered to enact as ATorrney General.

The circus was to extend to tomorrow as he was expected to face the same ridiculous question in the House, but not by the House committee itself, but by surrogates and attorneys. This shows even further that this whole proceeding is nothing more than the "deep state" in its death rattle, trying to grasp at a final straw.

“The report is now in the hands of the American people, we’re out of it. We have to stop using the criminal justice system as a political weapon.”

Attorney General William Barr
